Yoga Teacher & Professional Listener
I am Ananya, your friendly neighbourhood Yoga teacher who is looking to spread the teachings of this phenomenal science in as authentic a manner as possible. I have had the good fortune of learning, understanding and unpacking the elements of this Science from exceptional Gurus under the lineage of Sri T. Krishnamacharya and Swami Sivananda and this has allowed for a deeper, more profound appreciation for the Body, Breath and Mind. Through the carefully curated and guided practice of Āsanā, Prānāyāmā and Dhyānam, I hope to assist practitioners in understanding the vessel that is our Body, the life force that is our Breath and the misunderstood machine that is our brilliant Mind.
Yogā need not be complicated, inaccessible postures and extreme lifestyle changes that can do more harm than healing. Yogā sometimes is just about repetitive movements that are simple and practiced to perfection, sitting in silence and taking long, conscious breaths and eventually calming the mind with lesser thoughts, lesser agitation and attaining a state of Sattvā.
And here I am, trying my best to make this Science as accessible as possible, all the while keeping in mind the teachings of my Gurus and surrendering to the Higher Cosmic Intelligence.
Anya is my safe space. I get to be my truest self through my teachings and I hope to create and build a community that practices without judgement, with kindess and compassion and engages in lots of (heated, yet respectful) debates of the wonder that is this Life.

What is so different about Anya? What is it that we offer that other Yogā teachers do not?
Quite frankly, nothing. It would be dishonest of me to claim ownership over aspects of Yogā as the teachings of this Science have been preserved and passed on for generations. The motto here is to place our collective faith in this Science and watch the magic unfold as we become more aware of the Body, pay more attention to our Breath and become more conscious with the thoughts, emotions and patterns of the Mind. For our part at Anya, we hope to keep the approach as authentic and true to our roots as possible.
